Reaching your Inner Core

Posted by Intuition Girl

When is the last time you have felt that special part in you – your vital source? Your vital source, soul being, chi or life force keeps your heart beating, your life flowing and your mind ticking. It is that vast part of your true being that charges every magical moment in your life. If you have allowed your vital source to fall to the wayside because you have stretched yourself to thin – be it at work, at home or in relationships, you begin to lose touch and all sense of what your true being is and what it can be.

To reconnect with your inner core, you must relinquish all your fears and any emotional baggage or relationships that are breaking down your defenses. When your natural defense mechanisms are worn down from strife and past traumas, you tend to stay disillusioned and satisfied with yourself – even if your life is hardly bearable.

I want you to stop for a few minutes and genuinely think about who you are, where you have been, where you want to be, and where you are really going in your life. Now ask yourself the following questions – and I want you to be brutally honest with yourself:

  • Am I truly happy at this time in my life?
  • Am I healthy and at peace?
  • Is this who I really am?
  • Is this who I wanted to be?
  • Did I set reachable goals?
  • Have I achieved the goals that I’ve set?
  • Is this the path on which I really want to be?
  • Is this the right track for me to take?
  • Will I be where I want to be in six months, one year, five years, etc.?
  • In the end, will it be worth it?

Now that you have candidly answered all of these questions, can you move forward in your life beyond a shadow of a doubt without any regret? If you cannot, then it is time to reach deep inside and feel that sense of worth, motivation and inspiration that only your inner core can provide you. To do this, you must simply ask your higher source for the will and strength to feel what it is to be truly alive. Daily meditation, deep breathing exercises and affirmations often help rebuild and strengthen your inner core’s foundation. Once you have reconnected with your soul being, you will be living with the inner power and stamina to be happy, healthy and to achieve greatness in every area of your life.

Summertime and the living’s easy

Posted by Intuition Girl

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. Everything is in bloom and the leaves are full and green. The skies are a vibrant blue and the sun is beaming its warm rays everywhere its light touches. Kind of reminds me of Billie Holiday back in the early 20th century when she sang, “Summertime and the livin’s easy”. Summer is the season where all you want to do is lay back in the sunshine, absorb the rays and take a dip in a cool, refreshing pool. Wouldn’t it be nice if life was that easy all the time?

For some people, life is always like the feeling of summer because they have discovered the secret to bliss. They take life one day at a time, find the joy in everything and everyone, and count their blessings one by one. They do not have to reflect on life because they live it by embracing it. That’s summertime all the time.

As you begin your journey into this summer season, I want you to take a step back so you can get a solid view of the life you are living, and the path affront of you. If you are in a hurry and rushed for time, slow down in the rat race and give yourself an opportunity to catch your breath. If you’re running around everywhere at the speed of lightening and cannot slow down enough to smell the flowers, then you are missing out on life’s little blessings. It’s okay to be lazy every now and then. You need a chance to relax and recuperate. Small breaks give your body, mind and spirit a shot of vitality.

Whether on a nature trail, a day at the lake or a walk on the beach – take some “me-time” to get in tune with yourself. Use this summer as a stepping stone to awakening your inner core and refreshing your vital energy for the next big hurdle. Even as life will surely bring challenges along the way, with a freed mind and soul, nothing can stop you from living the “easy” life if you so choose to do so.

Until we speak again,

Raising the Bar on Life

Posted by Intuition Girl

Did you ever play the game, limbo? The object of the game is to be able to walk beneath a stick or bar until you can no longer do it or you fall to the ground. Sometimes life can feel like that. You feel like you are stretching yourself so thin that if you get down any further, you are going to lose your footing. Sometimes, when you do fall down, it feels like you can’t pick yourself up off the ground. Guess what? The truth is, you can pick yourself up. Just like limbo – you can dust yourself off and try again.

Once you have hit the bottom, it may seem difficult to pull yourself up at the bootstraps. Especially if you feel like you have had the wind knocked out of you. The good news is that once you have gotten to that point, there is only one way and that is up. Sometimes, you have to raise the bar so that you can overcome whatever life throws your way. When you rise to the challenge and move past the situation or event, you find that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

What challenges are holding you back right now? Is it a difficult supervisor? Maybe you really want to earn that higher position at work… or maybe you just want to lead a simpler life. If you continue putting constraints on yourself because you have lost your footing in the past, then it is time to step up your a-game and raise the bar so that you can create and manifest exactly what it is you want in life.

Stop playing the “I can’t do it” card. We have all been in a position where things have not gone our way. Most times, we brush off our pants and keep on moving, even if it pains us to do so. You must move beyond the bar or raise it to get what you want. “Can’t” is not an option. “Won’t” is not an option. “Failure” is not an option. If you say it enough, you will believe it. When you really believe in yourself, nothing is impossible. Nothing.

You are Perfect in Every Way

Posted by Intuition Girl

Everywhere you look these days there is a “quick fix” or some “magical cure” to mend what ails you… even for things you may not even realize you have. The latest novelty on the market promises longer, thicker, darker eyelashes for a “subset of women with inadequate or not enough lashes”. Of course men’s hair, rather lack thereof, is a financial windfall for marketers annually as well. But if you really listen to these and so many similar commercials, you find that the terminology and “implied” terminology is always geared toward the tearing down of the person. Words and phrases like: inadequate, not enough, aging, feelings of inadequacy, feelings of lack, loss of youthfulness, loss of vitality, loss of stamina, loss of strength, loss of tenacity, loss of vibrancy, and loss of beauty, among others, can be the beginning of the decline of your field of personal perception.

Not only do we have to contend with Internet, radio and television commercials, we also walk into retail stores where there are super-skinny, stick-figure mannequins displaying the latest fashions. But when you try the outfit on, it looks nowhere as good as it did on the store dummy. Now you go searching for the latest green-tea supplement to help shed the extra pounds so you can look as good as the plastic doll. How did we get to this point? We now compete with store window mannequins? Really?

When you have so many channels tearing you down day in and day out, it is no wonder you sometimes feel like you are less than whole, less than adequate. This is why it is so important that you learn how to tune into the right channels, and tune out the negative ones so that they do not influence you to the degree that they break you down and make you feel like less than a person.

Remember this, you are created perfectly in every way – from the moment of your conception, your life was laid before you. It was mapped out from the soles of your feet to the very last threads of the hair on your head (or not). Each cell, each muscle, each living, thriving, vibrant organ in your body is unique to you alone. Each serves a purpose for you to be the best at who you are today and in the future. It is not for the radio or television or any external influence to tell you who you are. That role is yours alone. You are who you are because you are born in the image and likeness of your Creator, your God or whatever name you give to the Creator of all that is. You come from perfection, the Divine and therefore, you also are part of that energy. No living being can take that away from you—only you can relinquish your power by giving it away.

Life Lessons well Spent

Posted by Intuition Girl

In a day and age where technology appears to rule the day and the sky is virtually the limit in what we can achieve, I often find that young adults seem to have the most difficulty adapting to their new roles in life. Once young men and women get past raging hormones, acne and the feelings of peer acceptance – they are often still overwhelmed by the challenges and uncertainty of the times. It is easy for those of us, ripened with time and experience, to wonder how these feelings of lack and overwhelm can be so prolific in our youth. But given the nature of our socioeconomic environment, it is really no wonder at all. In fact, our high school and college graduates face a tough housing and job market. To them, everything is not as clear cut as it may have been for ourselves and those who came before us.

Ever heard that old adage about earning a degree at the College of Hard Knox? Those are some of the best life lessons well spent. For those of us who have been there, we might have some words of wisdom to share. We have seen and experienced what curve balls life can throw our way. Because of the encounters that many of us have experienced in the past, we just might be the perfect mentors to our youth during these difficult times if they are willing to listen to our words about the life lessons that we have faced. I am sure there are many wise people who have sound advice to offer those who need it the most.

So how do we help them create an attitude of gratitude even when the chips are stacked against them? Though it is an easy question to ask, the answer is not always so straightforward. That is when your life lessons can come in handy. In a lot of cases, you or someone you know may have faced a similar situation when the burdens of life just seemed too much to bear. How did you or another individual make it past the hurdle? What mental and proactive strategies did you employ to overcome these trials? Remember, there are no “right” or “wrong” answers…only suggestions to help mentor those who need it. Teaching an attitude of gratitude – no matter what the circumstances may be – is the definitive sentiment to encourage in these desperate times.

Timing is also always the key. Knowing when to say something is equally as important as lending the guidance itself. Obviously, you need to search for body signals to determine the most appropriate time to speak with the young adult(s) in your life. Deep inside that mind is a battle of the wits. S/he is still trying to gain her/his footing as to where s/he is, where s/he wants to be, and ultimately, how s/he is going to arrive there. If you jump too quickly, you may feed her/him fear. If you wait too long, s/he may simply give up.

Wait for an opportune time to share your own life stories – not to dismiss the real emotions and experiences of the young adult in your life – but to make them aware of the fact that s/he is not the only one going through such adversity and tough times. Help her/him to understand that there is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel; and that no matter what life hands her/him, that person will come out of it okay if s/he is willing to go the distance and appreciate the blessings that have been placed in front of them.

In the end, we are merely the watch tower in the bay. We can offer light and a pathway. The journey, however, is for the young adult alone to pave. These will be their life lessons well spent.
