One Million and One Choices

Posted by Intuition Girl

Do you really know what it means to be a winner in life? I am sure you have heard others speak about folks who appear to have it all – a happy marriage, a great home life, a solid career, good friends, a nice home. When you notice that some people have such comfortable lives, does your heart pine to have a similar lifestyle?

It all boils down to the choices that you make in life. Each day, in fact, you make countless decisions of which you do not give a second thought. For example, when you wake up in the morning, take a shower, eat breakfast, drive to work, do your job, go shopping and then come home, you have made six choices already. But it is all the in-between decisions that sometimes have the most impact. The thing about these choices, too, is that there is an underlying reason or purpose as to why you do all the things that you do. What determines your choices, actions, behavior and end results is the motivating factor or drive. What convictions do you have about the life you want to lead? If you are simply going through the daily motions of “living” but not loving life, you may not truly have or achieve the lifestyle you deserve.

To become a winner in life, you must have a winning attitude of gratitude. The more you learn to appreciate the blessings in your life, the greater chances you will reach greatness in everything that touches your life. “I am grateful, but I am simply not going anywhere,” you say? What choices can you make today to jumpstart the road to your individual success? You must take a look at the motivator behind what you do – the seed you have planted to grow your abundance. Is the seed just a withering way to get by and make ends meet, or is the seed being nurtured with a strong and productive strategy to go beyond the average and into the extraordinary life you want to have? Do not “pine about” what you could have. Instead, take action steps. Make every choice count for something. If you are stuck in a dead end job, and you know that it is a dead end job, why are you still there? The same holds true for relationships. If you are in a negative relationship, or if you do not have the love of your life in your life, then what are you doing about the situation to rectify it? Look at your past, your present and your future. Where have you been, what choices have you made, what choices are you making today, and what choices do you need to actively make to achieve the end results you want? If you are making the same decisions that you have made 10 years ago, isn’t it time you switched strategies?

You have one million and one choices (and beyond) to create a joyful and prosperous life of individual freedom. Plant the seed of success in your heart, your mind, and your spirit. Give it wings to fly by following up on lifestyle-changing choices so you too, can soar to greater heights. Until we speak again, I am

New Year – New Attitude

Posted by Intuition Girl

I know. Every year it is the same thing. You are all pumped up for the big event, and you have already made out your wish list of resolutions that you plan to carry out in the New Year. Yet year after year, you continue to do the same things that keep holding you back in your life. Why? Is it because you are used to leading your life a certain way? Is it because you have grown complacent to the comfort of knowing how each day is going to be like for you? Or is it because somewhere deep inside of you, you are afraid to let go of all the “stuff” that you have been holding onto?

I realize it is easier said than done. In fact, it is often a challenge for many of you to release things that give you some form of comfort. Even negative feelings and past hurts can sometimes be a comfort — because you know that you can use those as a crutch whenever you want to blame something or someone for your choices in life. The problem with that type of behavior is that the longer you hold onto your emotional baggage, the harder it is for you to move forward in life.

New Year – New Attitude

Why not try something extraordinary this time? Instead of doing things the same way you normally have in the past, use this New Year to reward yourself by pursuing opportunities for positive change. This means that you must challenge yourself to let go of that old pessimistic attitude and reinvigorate your soul being with the awareness that anything is possible – if you choose it to be.

With the New Year comes new opportunities – I want you to bid farewell to those feelings of old. Remember, only you have the power to transform your life into one that will be joy-filled and prosperous. Your metamorphosis will begin to take shape once you understand and apply a renewed sense of purpose in all your undertakings. That purpose is to enrich your life in every aspect; but you must truly want it with all your heart. You achieve this by letting go of the past. Then, you can begin to build upon the experience and wisdom of your history to manifest the foundation for your present and future. Make every minute count! Go into this New Year with a new attitude and watch the pendulum swing in your favor!

When I Wish upon a Star…

Posted by Intuition Girl

Do you remember a time when you saw a shooting star and you caught yourself making a wish? It’s okay to admit that you have… a lot of us have. And even without a shooting star, we sometimes find ourselves wishing for things that we do not have, for what others may have, and things that we could have had. Quite frankly, it is probably human nature to strive for bigger and better things…

This reminds me of a song that topped the charts back in 1995. Hip hop rapper Skee-Lo debuted with his one-hit wonder, “I wish”. In his song, he talks about how he wishes he was a bit taller, among many other things. The funny part about the lyrics is that the whole song is a big “pity party”. When wishing becomes the greater part of who you are, you begin seeing all the negativity in your life opposed to all the blessings that surround you now. In fact, when you create your own pity party, you can no longer focus on open doors of opportunity. The world becomes too difficult and all that you see is what you cannot have. That is not the way you are intended to live your life.

What is it that you heart desires right now? If it is a relationship, then what are you doing to create and manifest the connection you are seeking? If you are simply wishing for a relationship it is simply not good enough. Words and thoughts without deeds go nowhere. The same applies to the word “try”. For example, “I tried to have a relationship but it just didn’t work out.” If you truly “tried”, what was it that you did differently to make things work more effectively and mutually? Make a list of things that you can do right now to create the life you want to lead. After you have crafted your list, you need to follow through on those modifications so that you will not just be trying, but instead, doing.

“When you DO all that you can do to support and manifest the dreams that you have made in your heart and soul, then your wishes can come true.” When you DO what your inner soul truly wants you to do, all the obstacles you see before you become stepping-stones and opportunities for learning and growing. Remember too, dreams and wishes are the heart’s laughing place – a tender spot in your heart that keeps you striving and thriving. Never let go of your heart’s desires – but in order to fulfill them, you have to do more than just try – you simply must do.

Filling the Cornucopia of your Life

Posted by Intuition Girl

In my life, Thanksgiving brings a sense of renewed hope, love and reflection. I take this time to honor the people and events in my life, which have given me the inspiration, motivation and support to be who I am.

Do you see the beauty and bounty in this simple yet nourishing horn of plenty? I do. When I look at the cornucopia filled with an array of fruits, flowers and nuts, I appreciate the wonder and miracle of Nature’s harvest. Moreover, the cornucopia is the promise of blessings to come; and if you put just a little motivation behind your short-term goals, you will eventually achieve your long-term aspirations.

How plentiful is your cornucopia? If you are so fortunate to have family and friends to share your turkey-day feast, consider yourself very lucky. But before the main event… before you chow-down on delicious pumpkin pie, sultry turkey and egg nog – I want you to reflect on all the gifts in your life. Really take a few minutes to think about all the things that have gone right in your life. There must be something or someone that has been a blessing to you. Whether it is a close friend, who is always there to lend a hand – a warm home to call your own – the pet that never leaves your side, or the job that has paved the way for all the material things you own, now is the time to give thanks for all those things you often take for granted.

But I am struggling, Joan Marie – how can you expect me to be thankful when I have nothing to be thankful for, you say? There is always a positive flame burning for you if you only seek it. Inside each and every one of you is an abundance of wisdom that you can use to step into affluence – affluence of health, wealth and joy. You only need to make the choice to pursue happiness and prosperity. Once you do, you are well on the way to filling your metaphorical cornucopia. Remember, your horn of plenty can only become plentiful once you begin adding to it. If you continue to see a barren placeholder for the things that you want out of life, it will continue to remain empty. Start seeing the beauty and wholeness of who you are and the blessings will begin to flow.

Until we speak again, I am

Not Good Enough

Posted by Intuition Girl

Today you may have a financially-sound career and you may have earned the respect of your colleagues. But when you get home at the end of the day, you feel like something is missing from your life. Perhaps your personal life is empty – even if you have a significant other or “friends” on Facebook. Why do you feel the way you do? What triggers in your daily routine keep coming up that bring these past emotional wounds to the surface? Is it the stress of juggling career and home? Is it because you are the breadwinner and you feel like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders? Or is it because deep inside, you just do not feel good enough to have something or be something better in your life?

Remember that little boy or girl who tried so hard to love and to be loved; and no matter what the child tried to do, it seemed to not be good enough for others? Some of you still battle with that child within. You may appear to have balanced lives, comfortable houses and nice cars… but your relationships are not whole or in harmony — primarily because within your inner being is that little boy or girl, who is still consciously or unconsciously clinging to past experiences. You put up a barricade so that others can never truly enter into your lives because you are fearful that you may be rejected, deprived, neglected or abused.

How do I overcome my anxieties, you ask? You begin by accepting the past hurts of your life and forgiving yourself and those around you who may have contributed to the feelings and the emotional wall that you have built around yourself. Even if you do not reconcile these issues in person, you only need to say aloud, “I accept who I am. I forgive those who have hurt me. I forgive myself for holding onto the feelings that I have created in my life. I am free.” Each time any triggers or emotions start creeping up in your life, repeat the mantra above. It will help you sort through your challenges and allow you to move forward guilt-free and uninhibited. Remember, only you have the power to overcome your emotional burdens. If you continue to focus on what is no longer a part of your life, you will build your metaphorical wall higher and higher until you can no longer see over it.

You are good enough. In fact, you are better than just “good enough”. You are unique in every way. When you begin to see beyond your emotional wall, you will finally be free from what has chained you for far too long.

Until we speak again, I am
