What is your life’s purpose?
Posted by Intuition Girl
Dear Joan Marie:
How can I figure out what my life’s purpose is? I enjoy helping people but I am tired of not making any money. When will I figure it out and how can I make my life flow?
Thank you for all that you do.

Answer
Dear Mary Sue:
This is a great question because I find that most people want to know what their purpose is. For many of us our purpose is to heal the deep seated wounds within our Soul. We are all helping people every single day of our lives on many different levels. I think many don’t realize that being a great listener for a family member or friend is a gift and actually quite purposeful because you are helping someone and giving support.
When we become conscious of our need to heal from the inside out and are willing to spend time and money working on ourselves, that is, our inner being, we will become more whole.
As you continue to heal from within your purpose will become clearer to you. A great question to ask yourself is: “What do you enjoy doing on a daily basis?” I was just speaking to a friend of mine who wants to help those less fortunate. He wants to travel to other countries and help build schools. As a result of him sharing this with me, I suggested that he look into organizations whose expertise fits that ambition. Quite possible they would hire him and they would both benefit.
My point being there can always be a solution to what you want to do. Your life purpose is to create joy in your life. What does that look like? Can you actually imagine having a life that flows? What would your life look like, and feel like if it was actually flowing. Start visualizing that and allow the images to appear in your conscious mind often during the day. Soon you will begin to get ideas that will allow new possibilities to open.
I hope this helps and is a start for you. Further information to assist you can be found in my book, “Soul Discovery”.
Blessings,
JoanMarie the gift

letting go of defensiveness
Posted by Intuition Girl
Joan Marie,
Your recent article about experiencing death and rebirth on a continual basis makes a lot of sense. I am continually working on letting go of defensiveness.
Do you have any ideas of what would be a good thing to think when a defensive thought enters my head?
Thanks a bunch and thanks for your newsletters!
Warmly,
Sandy Anthony
Answer
Hi Sandy,
I am so glad you are reading the articles and taking them to heart. They are written to serve as a great tool to assist you on your journey. Your question is powerful! What you are becoming aware of whether you realize it or not is that your ego mind is trying to keep you in a place of stagnation and control.
When we feel as though we need to defend ourselves, our ego mind is working double time and is attempting to have you make a judgment call, which means that we must be right and someone else must be wrong. It is almost implying that we might be better than someone else or knows more than someone else. This is clearly the ego trying to prevent us from going within to our own emotions and see what is really going on.
What you first need to look at is why are you being defensive? I would encourage you to feel into the emotions– being defensive and go beneath that energy so you can discover what is hiding there? This can actually be a good sign for you as well because you just might be on the verge of a breakthrough and preparing to peel off another layer of debris.
Again, the best thing for you to do is to look at what emotions are laying beneath this attitude in you. Are you feeling less than or feeling like there is lack as if someone else is achieving something and you are not? Do not make this a right or wrong process—instead self-observe and see if this is simply good food for though.
Thank you for your question.
Many Blessings,
Joan Marie Whelan

Unblock your financial freedom and wealth
Posted by Intuition Girl
Dear Joan Marie,
I have accomplished a lot of success in my life but one thing that I have failed to achieve is great wealth. I know I am successful but I don’t feel successful because this one huge desire has not been fulfilled. I don’t know what to do about it. I really would like to get your thoughts as to what I can do to move forward and generate flow, that is, financial flow in my life.
Am I blocking my financial freedom and wealth? I hope you can give me some insight. Thanks,
Jeannie H.
Answer
Dear Jeannie,
Did you know that every time you move into negative feelings of “lack” that you are literally pushing money away from you? Nobody wants to be “poor;” so the best thing any one can do is to rise above the “poor” stigma. When we identify ourselves with being impoverished, chances are we will remain in that mental and financial state.
What can you do at this exact moment to improve your financial situation? Some people might say, “I don’t know what to do,” or worse, “I can’t do anything about it.” First things first: You words “don’t” and “can’t” are sabotaging you and your outcome. Stop using any words that connote negativity. Throw them out with the rest of the negative mental trash you’ve been hoarding in your mind. Now that we have that out of the way, say aloud, “I can improve my financial situation. I deserve to be wealthy and I accept great wealth into my life now.”
Did you notice the profound strength and power in this short but meaningful statement? You see, when you truly believe that you can improve your fate, you will. The positive seed has now been planted in your mind. Since you’ve tossed away the negative feelings and thoughts of yesterday, and you no longer use the words “can’t” and “don’t,” you will be amazed at the remarkable transformation that you have just now enabled in your life.
By enabling your mind to be more focused on positive and meaningful thoughts, you are subconsciously beginning a new and prosperous direction in your life. You have also opened the floodgates to the positive flow of energy. Suddenly, your deeds and words follow your positive, prosperous thoughts and with prosperity comes genuine happiness.
The mental, positive seed that you’ve planted in your mind must be nourished. This means that you must believe that you can attain wealth and with positive action you will attract wealth just by repeating this mental note in your mind on a daily basis—10-20-30 times a day. Instead of pushing money away, you will attract money situations to you. Remember, you possess all the mental tools to attract wealth when you use your intuitive mind to become part of the solution.
Until we speak again, I am

Help me take control back of my mind
Posted by Intuition Girl
Dear Joan Marie:
I have a powerful mind that likes to daydream often on things that will not help me in my life. I guess I spend too much time watching TV and getting caught up in other people’s lives instead of paying attention to my own life.
How can you help me take control back of my mind?
I love what you are doing- thank you,
Joanna Peterson

Answer:
Dear Joanna:
This question can help so many of us who have run away minds. The first question you want to address is: “Do you need to escape to another movie or world that satisfies you more than your own evolution and growth? I believe that is the real issue. If you are not content to focus on you, your present moment and pay attention to your life and goals and what you want to create then I wonder if you are feeling loved and happy?
Secondly, what are you running from? What is really sitting inside of you that you need to address but you are avoiding at all costs?
It appears as though you, like so many of us, have developed a bad habit. You need to re-train your mind and remind yourself who is really in charge of you—your life and your success. Every time your mind wants to wander you need to immediately put your focus back on you and center your thoughts on what it is you want to create and manifest in your life.
Repeat to yourself often: I place my attention on my intention—I choose to manifest_________.” Even put this statement on an index card and post it in several places. This way every time your mind wants to wander you can draw your attention to your index card or repeat the statement and pull your mind back to center.
Every second of the day be conscious as to where your thoughts are going and you will soon realize the great rewards.
Many Blessings,
Joan Marie

Do you ever get over losing someone?
Posted by Intuition Girl
Dear Joan Marie:
I know you are also a “Medium” and have talked to many people to help them overcome the loss of a loved one. My question is: “ Do you ever get over losing someone? ”
Thank you,

Answer
Dear Michelle:
I don’t believe anyone ever has to get over the loss of a loved one. You do, however, need to learn how to accept it, heal from it and continue living. When you lose someone that you care deeply about there is a process or stages that you go through. Some people become very angry, others feel isolated and depressed and others carry on with their lives on the outside but on the inside they are crumbling. Usually the final stage is acceptance. It is true that everyone heals and recovers at a different pace.
Death is never meant as a punishment or that God is getting even. We are all born with a contract that we agreed to before we arrived on earth. While we do, I believe, have the opportunity to change our contract, destiny plays a large part in the equation. Death is, in actuality, liberation from the bonds of the human form. Even after death, the spirit lives on and continues to grow and heal. I realize that it is difficult for many to accept this truth, but if we could, we would be better prepared to look at the departure of a soul as their liberation and freedom and therefore a celebration.
It is perfectly natural to recall and wish for a loved one to still be with us and you may choose to keep their memory alive. But it would be helpful to store in your heart your love ones fond memory with the understanding that their departure was necessary in order for you to find your own voice and live your life now for your highest and best good. We all have lessons to learn from life and death and this is simply a part of the experience.
We may never forget but it would be wise to accept the reality. This truth is key to helping you build strength and support as you step forward towards a new phase of your life.
Many Blessings,
Joan Marie Whelan
