You are as good as you think you are
Posted by Intuition Girl
Has anyone ever told you that? Well, if someone has not, then I am here to tell you this is the absolute truth: “You are as good as you think you are.” This means that if you have enough self-confidence to persevere and the motivation and willpower to drive through the hurdles, yes, you are as good as it gets. Though we may have our individual support systems – in the end, you have yourself to rely upon to wade through the hard stuff, climb over the rocky stuff, and embrace your reward at the end of the day.
You are empowered, whether you believe it or not, to create success in every aspect of your life. You must first choose to be happy in your own state of mind. “But I’m not happy,” you say? Why not? No one is making you unhappy. In fact, no one or nothing has the power to make you feel any certain way. If you are blaming others for your feelings of lack and regret, then truly you are wallowing in your own pity pool. Step away from the anger, rise above your feelings of injustice and turn those powerful emotions into something inspiring, motivating and productive. You see, if you are going to harp on past hurts, you might as well use that energy for something that is not so counterproductive. It is not as elusive as you may think.
Is this you? “Life is NOT fair. I am sick and tired of everyone else getting ahead and all I seem to do is get stuck in the mud, why?” If this mirrors your perception and reality, perhaps you need to look to those who are getting ahead and follow their lead. Maybe it is not so much because they do more work than you but they may work smarter, and maybe they have a brighter attitude and outlook on life. When you notice that others are getting ahead of you and becoming successful in their own respective fields, then it is time to conduct a gut check on your own perception and the approach you have been taking to make progress in your own life. If you have a negative mindset and you keep believing that you are incapable of achieving those same successes, truth of the matter is that you are as good as it gets. “Yeah, but they were born with a silver spoon. They did not have it as bad as I had,” you say? If I had a nickel for every time someone used that crutch to excuse his or her own lack of motivation to get ahead in life, I would be one of the wealthiest people in this country. Stop it!
Life is NOT fair. No one said it would be. The beauty of life is that we are all born the same way: we are all equally born naked. Which means that we have the equal capacity to achieve the greatness we are destined to achieve. What this means is that we must approach life innocently and “naked” to receive the subtle messages that the Universe is attempting to send to us. If we block ourselves with negativity and hardened hearts, then we have no one else to blame for our failures but ourselves. If you are ready to attract prosperity, success and happiness in your life, then you must genuinely play the role. Stop dwelling on your emotional baggage by forgiving yourself and freeing yourself from the woes you have carried with you far too long. Remember, you are as good as you think you are!
Owning Your Power
Posted by Intuition Girl
Hey you! Yes, you! Why do you keep giving your power away? You have a lot more raw talent and power than you understand. The problem is that you get so caught up in the daily grind of life that you forget just how strong and capable you are of making the impossible, possible. It has become so easy for you to just give up because that’s what you have been doing all along. You find yourself in a situation where you can empower yourself and then automatically assume that you won’t be up to the task. Why do you do that to yourself?
Remember, only you have the power to determine the pathway you are going to take in life and just how long or short the distance will be. Not only do you have the power to determine your trail, you also have the choice as to whether or not you are going to be happy or miserable during your journey.
Own your power. I can’t do it, you say? For one moment, use every ounce of energy that your body can extract and dig deep within the core of your soul. Rediscover that flicker of light that gives you all the inspiration and motivation you used to have when you were just a little boy or girl. It did not take nearly as much energy to say no to playing outside as it did for you to go run and play on the playground. As a child, you had no inhibitions, only dreams and wonder to explore, laugh and play. There was no goal in sight, only the journey of discovery. From every butterfly, to every race, to every hill you climbed, there was no one to keep you from using your imagination and creating the wonderland that only your mind’s eye could create. Your imagination was and still is the cornerstone of everything positive that you can dream and achieve.
When you own your power, you are freeing yourself from the invisible walls you have built around yourself as an adult. Some of you do it as a mode of protection because you fear getting hurt again. Some of you do it because you fear rejection, or the pain of not accomplishing the success you want. Stop it! When you experience life to the fullest, you live in joy. Yes, there will be challenges and even heartaches along the way — life was never promised to be perfect. But the good news is that when you start embracing life through the eyes and marvel of a child, you no longer fear the “impossible”, because it is merely a word. Instead, you grab onto the kite strings and let them lead you where they may. There is no greater strength than giving into your own vulnerabilities and accepting you for you; and knowing that no matter where your feet may land, you will find a light of hope and you will finally own the power that will ultimately bring you the joy and success you have always wanted in your life.

The Waiting Game
Posted by Intuition Girl
Do you play the waiting game? In other words, do you procrastinate on your plans to the point of paralysis? It is one thing to be pragmatic about a given strategy or initiative; but once the assessment is complete, it is time to move onto the next step. Too often, people get caught up in the waiting game in the hopes that “something good is going to happen”, but never see the thought through fruition. They simply think that by doing nothing to progress their lives, that fate will somehow jump up to the plate and drop the golden goose egg in their laps. This is not how success works. In fact, the mindset of “hoping” for something good to happen might be a good start, but it is in no way a means to an end. If you choose to deliberate too long on making the next move toward your success, you become too complacent and instead of progressing, you start to stagnate in the same place.
When life gets dull or dire, you may think that there is no end in sight. You may even believe that no matter what you do, it will not help you move forward to get out of your slump. Truth is if you keep believing that, you are right. Henry Ford once said, “You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.” That is the key phrase, “going to do”. Life is more about the actual “doing” than it is the “going to do’s”. He also said, “It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time that others waste.” Are you wasting your talent and time? The act of taking your ideas and transforming them into reality is what moves you; and for what life becomes more meaningful. The realization of turning dreams into real success is the cornerstone to gaining significant purpose in life.
If you are sitting here right now wondering why you have put off plans for so long, then it is now time to make your move. You cannot depend on empty promises you have made to yourself. Only you have the gift to awaken your creative talents to achieve goals you want in life. Stop postponing your success because no one else can or will make it happen for you. Ultimately, it is entirely up to you whether or not you apply your ideas and turn those ideas into tangible fortune. Ask yourself: What is it that I really want in life? Yes, it is an open-ended question. For many of you, it will be good health, for others it may be a career move or perhaps a blanket statement like, “I want to be wealthy.” It is a fundamental certainty that many millionaires acquired their riches through strong motivation and genuine desire to achieve. Hope may have played a role in the planning stages, but it was the action upon which they based their strategy that got the ball rolling. If you want to gain wealth, achieve overall wellbeing, and lead a joy-filled life, then you must choose to do what it takes to get the ball rolling in the direction you want it to go. From today forward, I want you to keep the mindset that all things are possible when you act upon the thing it is you want in your life. Don’t wait for success to fall in your lap, your odds are better getting struck by lightning.

Filling the Cornucopia of your Life
Posted by Intuition Girl
In my life, Thanksgiving brings a sense of renewed hope, love and reflection. I take this time to honor the people and events in my life, which have given me the inspiration, motivation and support to be who I am.
Do you see the beauty and bounty in this simple yet nourishing horn of plenty? I do. When I look at the cornucopia filled with an array of fruits, flowers and nuts, I appreciate the wonder and miracle of Nature’s harvest. Moreover, the cornucopia is the promise of blessings to come; and if you put just a little motivation behind your short-term goals, you will eventually achieve your long-term aspirations.
How plentiful is your cornucopia? If you are so fortunate to have family and friends to share your turkey-day feast, consider yourself very lucky. But before the main event… before you chow-down on delicious pumpkin pie, sultry turkey and egg nog – I want you to reflect on all the gifts in your life. Really take a few minutes to think about all the things that have gone right in your life. There must be something or someone that has been a blessing to you. Whether it is a close friend, who is always there to lend a hand – a warm home to call your own – the pet that never leaves your side, or the job that has paved the way for all the material things you own, now is the time to give thanks for all those things you often take for granted.
But I am struggling, Joan Marie – how can you expect me to be thankful when I have nothing to be thankful for, you say? There is always a positive flame burning for you if you only seek it. Inside each and every one of you is an abundance of wisdom that you can use to step into affluence – affluence of health, wealth and joy. You only need to make the choice to pursue happiness and prosperity. Once you do, you are well on the way to filling your metaphorical cornucopia. Remember, your horn of plenty can only become plentiful once you begin adding to it. If you continue to see a barren placeholder for the things that you want out of life, it will continue to remain empty. Start seeing the beauty and wholeness of who you are and the blessings will begin to flow.
Until we speak again, I am

Give life your best shot!

Dear Friends,
I recently read an article about a young basketball star from James Madison University, Dawn Evens who has an incurable kidney disease. She is the Nation’s leading scorer and she does not allow her condition to dictate her life in any way. She said: “I just decided I am not going to lie down and let this take over my life like it can.”
When she walks out on the basketball court she moves as though she owns the floor – she commands the situation. My question to you is: “What life experience are you currently going through that has stopped you in your tracks and immobilized you?”
PRACTICE taking responsibility for where you are right now. Gather strength from your problems and give your life your best shot. Each one of us has the power within us to muster up the strength, courage and passion to push through whatever life has presented to us.
Don’t allow a problem or misfortune to control you. Own the floor – command the situation and seek a solution. Do not let your problem take over your life like it can. Seek out role models to follow and encourage you – pray and ask the angels to support and help you and remember to never give up!
